I had the honor of delivering a keynote speech at the World Environment Day event, where we gathered to address critical environmental issues facing Somalia.
I commend the Somali Environmental Development Organization (SEDO) for their unwavering commitment to protecting our environment and raising awareness about climate change. Somalia is a victim of the El Niño floods, food security shortages, and shifting rainfall patterns—all consequences of climate change.
Together, we must advocate for sustainable practices and work towards solutions that will help our communities thrive in the face of these challenges. Let’s unite for a greener, more resilient future.
Today, we commemorate World Environment Day with a diverse range of stakeholders! Attendees include the greater Somali society, youth-led environmental NGOs, climate change activists, research institutions, government officials, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. Together, we strive for a sustainable future!
